Welcome to Shark Tank Junior, where young entrepreneurs learn to transform their creative ideas into compelling business pitches! In this engaging course, students will experience the thrill of entrepreneurship while developing critical thinking, presentation, and business planning skills.

Course Overview

Over five exciting sessions, students will learn the fundamentals of business ideation, market research, financial planning, and presentation skills. They’ll work individually or in small teams to develop their own unique business concepts.

Course Structure

Week 1: Ideation & Innovation

Week 2: Market Research & Competition

  • Conducting basic market research
  • Analyzing competitors
  • Defining your unique selling proposition

Week 3: Business Planning

  • Creating a simple business plan
  • Basic financial concepts (costs, pricing, profit)
  • Marketing strategies for young entrepreneurs

Week 4: Pitch Development

  • Elements of a great pitch
  • Creating visual presentations
  • Practicing pitch delivery

Week 5: Shark Tank Showcase

  • Final pitch presentations
  • Constructive feedback sessions
  • Celebration of achievements

Final Project

Students will deliver a 5-minute pitch presentation to a panel of “friendly sharks” (teachers, parents, or community members), followed by a 3-minute Q&A session. Presentations will include:

  • Business concept explanation
  • Market opportunity
  • Financial projections
  • Marketing strategy
  • Investment ask and equity offer

Materials Needed

  • Notebook or digital device for planning
  • Basic art supplies for prototypes
  • Presentation software (Google Slides, PowerPoint, etc.)
